In 2011 I was hired to go to Afghanistan with EODT and conduct Emergency Response Team (ERT) missions at the US Embassy in Kabul under the WPS State Department contracting umbrella. EODT lost the contract while I was training for this mission in Montross VA with O'gara Group and my entire class and I were subsequently hired by SOC-USA, which is the new version of the same company I had worked for years before, SOC-SMG, to conduct ERT missions at Camp Prosperity and the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq.

  The ERT teams respond to all incidents and attacks including active shooter, white powder/chemical attack, direct attack and wall breaches, indirect fire and rockets, mass casualty events, VBIEDs, and demonstrations. I also became the ERT Intelligence briefer by going daily to receive an intelligence briefing from the Consulate and briefing the entire ERT detail during their shifts. During my tenure, we responded to various emergencies including a few rocket impacts within the Embassy. I left in October 2015 and took a few years off as a vacation.

  In January 2017, I returned to the workforce in Florida and was hired by Kent Security to be the Director of Security at Ultimate Software. I remade the security officer program in place, writing SOPs and emergency procedures manuals, as well as maintaining scheduling and officer training. I was able to turn the program around and made such a good impression on the client, Ultimate Software, that they hired me directly as a Security Specialist in 2018 and let me run and manage the physical security needs of the company as a whole.

  That company has become UKG now through acquisition and a merger with Kronos, but my duties remain more or less the same. I conduct investigations, monitor accesses and CCTV, supervise our global Securitas security officers, monitor world events, send emergency notification messages, respond to all emergencies and incidents, and secure on and off-site events.
